LOTR hands down, saving private ryan / gladiator came so close but the Two Towers scene is just so intense.

Braveheart one of the best films ever!!

Though not as action oriented or physically involving as LOTR or Ryan, I feel me the battle for,the Anthill in Paths of Glory the most emotionally devastating war scene I can recall.

I went for LOTR, but that was tough! Not the best film, but I’ll make an honourable mention to Hacksaw Ridge too.

They are all very good but I think that for a really good battle scene you have to go back to where the original ideas came from. I love the colors and size of the Japanese Samurai Movies, the charge of the Scotts Greys in Waterloo. And the more I think about it the more I can come up with. What is even better about the earlier battle scenes is no use of CGI.

You should have included the ‘Battle of Britain’!!
